What started as one day of kindness to honor the boys on the one-year anniversary of their passing has turned into one of our main awareness campaigns. After posting our plan to paint rocks on social media, we were flooded with friends and family across the country who wanted to be a part of it. Our original goal of placing 365 painted rocks into our single community quickly became over 5,000 rocks in 34 states and 6 countries. We now have dedicated rock days on each of their birthdays and the anniversary of their passing. We include positive messages on the front of the rocks and QR codes on the back for those who find the rocks to scan and learn about The Hummingbird Project. Not only are we keeping their memory alive, but it is our way of spreading awareness with kindness so that no one ever feels alone or unwelcome on their journey. We have received hundreds of messages from people finding our rocks and wanting us to know how much they needed the message or that they paid it forward. We know the effects firsthand of what it looked like for ourselves when the darkest clouds covered up our hopes. We rallied together and made the decision to find ways to inspire and be inspired, and we had to create new hopes so we could live on in love with what our new world resembles. 

It has been kindness rocks that have steadied our resolve and faith. People knowing about our sons and our story, and having their memories and stories all shared through the power of a QR code proves even more that Love Lives On. We are seeing the ripple effects and are determined to make real change.
