CJ Kindness Rocks

Hello and Happy New year from The Hummingbird Project! We are kicking off 2024 with our annual Rock Painting days coming to you in the month of February. We started this tradition in 2019, after the passing of Christopher (24) and John Ramirez (22), the founders two sons, who tragically lost their lives from an accidental fentanyl overdose.

Since then, the family has learned to channel their grief through art, community and kindness. Painting Rocks has become more than just a crafty pastime, but a safe haven that reminds us that through our pain, the hard days, and the times when the world doesn’t make much sense.. spreading love and positivity alongside the people who matter most delivers extraordinary healing to one’s mind and soul.

Here we are four years later, where our Kindness Rocks have now reached nearly all 50 states, and even a few other countries. Strangers and friends have shared their stories from around the world, and we learned very quickly that more people relate to our tragedy than we could imagine. These stories from others exhibit a strong interrelation between community and the power of positivity. Friends, family and strangers empathize because our story is part of their story too. For those of you who have been following the footsteps of our Kindness Rocks, we thank you for the support and love you show to us and the world around you.

We invite you all to participate in our virtual Rock Painting days via Instagram live and zoom as we prepare to celebrate the heavenly birthdays of Christopher and John. Join us every week for a virtual rock painting experience alongside your family and friends as we prepare for February 8th and 26th where we will spread rocks throughout the community here in Phoenix. Love Lives On, when we let community and kindness lead the way.

With Love,

The Hummingbird Team ❤️
